In the recently posted News Everyday article, “Frozen 2′ Spoilers and Updates: Idina Hints on Elsa’s Character,” Idina Menzel (the voice of Elsa) spoke to E! News about the development of Frozen 2. Fans of Frozen have been awaiting the release of a sequel since they first saw it in theaters. It’s definitely interesting to get some insight on what the directors have in store for the next movie although there isn’t much revealed in this article.
They hint at the possibility of a movie without Elsa, meaning she could “perish.” But that would be a pretty terrible move for the Disney company, seeing as how they have made so much revenue from Elsa merchandise and being able to use the character in the parks.
This article also hints at the possibility of Elsa finding a boyfriend. This plot-line makes more sense because the first movie focused on sisterly love as opposed to relying on the love of a man. It would make sense for the writers to take a new spin on Frozen 2 to keep people interested. How many movie franchises have we seen suffer from basically making the same movie twice, if not more than twice?
This article also hinted at the possibility of Olaf getting a girlfriend. This has the potential to be hilariously entertaining. He seemed like such an asexual character in the first movie, but the possibilities for humorous dialogue and witty banter between two snowpeople in love are so numerous, we can definitely see this idea panning out in the second Frozen.
At any rate, we are very excited about the development of this film and can’t wait to see it in theaters in (hopefully) 2018! Thanks Rida-14 for the insight!
